The film follows the journey of Jacob Marfo, an Edmonton father whose life changed when his toddler son, Ezra, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Faced with the urgent need for a stem cell transplant, Marfo launched the “Swab 4 Ezra” campaign.

Silva’s lens captures the critical mission to diversify Canada’s stem cell registry, highlighting the specific challenges faced by Black Canadians and people of colour in finding life-saving matches. It is a story of personal struggle transformed into a powerful movement for systemic change.
