What is the 2020 Luso Virtual Volta?

It is an individual or team challenge to walk, run, cycle, or ride to raise awareness and funds for adults living with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

The event is an initiative of the Luso Canadian Charitable Society, a non-profit organization that offers support services to adults with developmental and physical disabilities, thus allowing families/caregivers the much needed temporary relief, while their loved ones are in a safe nurturing environment.

Whether you’re a runner, walker, cyclist, motorcycle enthusiast, family or an individual supporter of any age, level of fitness or location around the world – anyone can participate and come together for this fun and worthwhile event.

This year, the Luso Virtual Volta is dedicated to David Harvey, who as the owner of Benefit Plan Administrators Limited (BPA) faithfully served union workers and their families through exceptional stewardship of multi-employer trust funds. As an advocate for education and improved business practices, his contributions have benefited many over the years. David contributed to the Luso Canadian Charitable Society since its inception and his strong support and advocacy continued until his passing in 2019. The 2020 Luso Virtual Volta is a tribute to his generosity and lasting impact on Luso participants living with disabilities and their families.

“Support without Barriers” also recognizes the unique contribution that individuals and families living with disabilities bring to the community.

The Annual Volta has always been more than just a day of walking, cycling, and riding. It’s an event that brings the community together in celebration and solidarity for individuals living with disabilities. Your support is a vital part of our success and your are invited to participate with purpose over the month of August.

Join the event today and help Luso Canadian Charitable Society continue to build for a better tomorrow for those living with disabilities!
